Elgato Video Capture is a good tool for digitizing your old VHS tapes. The quality of the conversion is good enough to warrant the software a place on our side-by-side comparison chart. However, it’s missing almost all of the key features of the best VHS to DVD converters.
I'm in Sydney, Australia. If anyone knows any stores that sells stuff like this that'd be great! I rang up an apple store in the city but they didn't have it. Thanks so much for ur time! Best Answer: G'Day.
The Pinnacle looks like a great device. Streetwise might be able to help. Canopus makes similar. Apart from those expensive options, there are 3 cheap routes. New on the market is the KWorld DVD Maker 2. States it works with OSX 10.4 They are about $100. Harvey Norman can order them in.
Quote the Product Code: KW-UB315. That's important. That's the one KWorld advertise as OSX compatible. KWorld site is here. They list two similiarly named items.
One is OSX Compatible, (its Black) the other isnt on its own (its white in colour). One is called DVD Maker 2. (Mac +Pc) the other is called DVD Maker USB 2.0 (PC only) Jaycar sell the non mac compatible one, which needs this additional software driver to work on a Mac: 2. A cheaper way to go is to use Echo FX software drivers for Max OSX. Here: This software makes the common Windows usb video capture boxes Mac compatible. The list of supported devices are listed at the EchoFX site. There are 2 types of Echo FX software.
For USB 1.1 video devices, the software is called USBVision. For USB 2.0 devices, its called Video Glide.
I use USBVision with my Belkin. I run OSX 10.3 on an original Mac Clamshell and it doesnt miss a beat. The EchoFX Video glide software specifically lists that USB device as compatible. Echo FX USB 1.1 supported devices: EchoFX InterView Lite Belkin VideoBus and VideoBus II Global Village VideoFX iRez USBLive, USBLive Pro, and CapSure USB Pinnacle StudioLINX and StudioPCTV Dazzle DVC-50, DVC-80 and DVC-90. Echo FX USB 2.0 supported devices: # XLR8 ProView and XtraView.
# Pinnacle Dazzle DVC-90 and DVC-100. # KWorld DVD Maker USB 2.0 # LinXcel Video Grabber. # VideoHome GrabBeeX # Plextor ConvertX PX-AV100U and PX-AV200U # LG Electronics GSA-5169D DVD-RW The list is very specific. Different models from the same makers, if not listed by Echo FX, wont work on a Mac with Echo FX drivers.
If you can afford more than $100 then Canopus make great video input devices for the Mac. They are high quality and start at about 3x the price of my el cheap solution. Another way to go is to try DV pass through when fitted to a cam corder.
Such video cameras have analogue in and firewire out, by passing the optical camera, the Mac (iMovie) sees the video stream as camera input. I've never tried that method and some people are saying later of OSX versions doesnt support it. Canopus is here: have a look at the ADVC 55, 110, etc etc. Nextbyte would get them in for you or maybe keep an eye on their second hand lists on their websites. Some of the Mac compatible TV sticks like EyeTV are can support video input.
![Capture Capture](/uploads/1/2/5/5/125599176/290815385.jpg)
That's another method. Check carefully to make sure the particular one can do import. But looking at the EyeTv site, It says 'EyeTV Hybrid also comes with a break-out cable for composite video and S-Video'. I've never looked at one up close.
Price at Streetwise for the EyeTV is $269. Maybe ask them to make sure it will do exactly what you want. Its twice the price of the Echo FX plus usb cheap box, but still a bit less than the cheapest Canopus, I think. A cheap DVD recorder using a rewritable DVD will do the trick. Record the source material via the DVD recorder, copy the VOB files from the DVD onto the Mac and either import the VOB into iMovie and edit.
(Sound will be lost though (my version of it anyway) so you have to add it separately). Or process the VOB with MPEG Streamclip, which is free, here: You will need to get the Mpeg 4 codec for Quicktime if you dont already have it. The software will produce a digital video stream for editing in quicktime pro or iMovie, and burnt to disc in iDVD or Toast.
This is only for use on material authored by the user. So though I dont know where to buy a Pinnacle, these are a few places you can buy stuff like it.
Im going to get the Kworld DVD maker 2. (Not the Kworld DVD Maker USB2.0). Because I want the one advertised as Mac compatible.
That way I wont have to use the Echo FX software. After all that, this has popped up: Steetwise do sell the Pinnacle, its $189.95. Well, I certainly learned a lot answering this.
Update: Ive just recieved an email from the distributor of the KWorld devices. Mac drivers - but no the capture and editing software - are included with the KWorld DVD Maker 2. That's the black one. I'm getting one. Its way cheaper than anyting else. Relies on Quicktime Pro and iMovie for capture and editing. If you see the white one, the 'KWorld DVD Maker USB 2.0' thats the one you need to buy the Echo FX software for to use on a Mac.
I'm making good profit with penny stock Check here Many new investors are lured to the appeal of a penny stock due to the low price and potential for rapid growth which may be as high as several hundred percent in a few days. Similarly, severe loss can occur and many penny stocks lose all of their value in the long term. Accordingly, the SEC warns that penny stocks are high risk investments and new investors should be aware of the risks involved but you can even make very big money. These risks include limited liquidity, lack of financial reporting, and fraud. A penny stock is a common stock that trades for less than $5 a share. While penny stocks generally are quoted over-the-counter, such as on the OTC Bulletin Board or in the Pink Sheets, they may also trade on securities exchanges, including foreign securities exchanges.
In addition, penny stocks include the securities of certain private companies with no active trading market. Although a penny stock is said to be 'thinly traded,' share volumes traded daily can be in the hundreds of millions for a sub-penny stock. Legitimate information on penny stock companies can be difficult to find and a stock can be easily manipulated. A lot of interested traders are asking themselves the question if you can really make money with binary options? The answer is that you can indeed make money in binary options trading.
Learn here Obviously this is a perfectly legitimate question considering that most people have not traded binary options in the past and generally believe that investing is a very difficult activity. However, you will have to put an effort into it. You will have to learn money management, reading of charts as well as the usage of indicators. Tell us some more. Upload in progress. Upload failed.
